Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Delbert Hines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davante Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Delbert Hines!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Davante Adams!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adams drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hines might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hines can't do much from the bottom here.
Adams works to advance to full mount. Hines defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Hines could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hines wants to hold on but Adams pushes him away.
Hines regains half guard.

Hines looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Adams is keen to just control but Hines is a slippery customer.
Hines is looking to improve his position.

Hines is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Adams pulls his head out easily.
Hines keeping hold of Adams's head, controlling as best he can.
Adams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hines. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Adams looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hines regains full guard. Nicely done.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hines is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hines controls Adams momentarily but Adams frees himself.
Adams must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hines had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Adams defends it easily.

Hines manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Adams manages to get himself to full guard.

We've been informed that Adams has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Hines is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Adams striking off his back but it's not causing Hines any problems.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A left and a right from Adams both land. Nice combination.
Adams throws a body kick that misses.
It looked like Hines was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Adams.
Adams takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Adams scores with a takedown into Hines's guard.
Adams tries to free his leg and advance position but Hines is retaining full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hines keeping moving, preventing Adams from controlling successfully.

Davante Adams dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Adams drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Adams is trying to ground and pound but Hines uses the momentary lack of control by Adams to regain half guard.
Adams is thwarting Hines's attempts to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hines on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Adams wants to take a breather but Hines is having none of it.

Hines seems keen to control Adams's posture.

Hines working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Adams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Adams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hines has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Adams has passed into side control.

Hines can't do much from the bottom here.
Hines tries to control but Adams manages to take his back.
Adams looking to hold on to the position here but Hines rolls and ends up regaining guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adams postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Hines is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Adams slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hines keeping full guard, as Adams tries to pass.
Hines is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Adams. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Adams trying to control but Hines is working from the bottom.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hines has his foot on Adams's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Adams works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hines successfully pulls guard.

Adams would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Davante Adams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Hines swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Adams lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Hines missing with a left hand there. Adams was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hines throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Adams.
Hines is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Hines is staying active underneath Adams, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Adams fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hines sprawls well initially but Adams persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Davante Adams has got the better of the ground game so far.
Adams is keen to just control but Hines is a slippery customer.
Hines is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Adams's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Adams's back!
Hines keeps control of the position easily here as Adams tries to buck him off.

Hines looking to break Adams's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Adams remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Hines will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Hines is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Adams knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Adams for a finish.
Hines keeps control of the position as Adams tries to break free.
Hines is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Hines continues to stall.
Adams looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Adams tries to roll but Hines sticks to his back.
Hines has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Adams's body.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Davante Adams.
I've got Adams winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
