Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quintus Octavian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan has chosen The Animals - House of the Rising Sun as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Quintus Octavian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Octavian swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ryan counters with a three punch combo that has Octavian backing up. Octavian nods at Ryan to acknowledge the strikes.
Octavian fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ryan has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Octavian moves into range and clinches up with Ryan.
Octavian ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Octavian no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Ryan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Octavian bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ryan's guard.

Octavian drops back looking for a leg! Ryan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ryan manages to kick Octavian off! Octavian jumps back into Ryan's guard.
Octavian postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ryan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Octavian, into his guard.

Let's hope that Ryan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Ryan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Jimmy Ryan seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Ryan counters with a crisp right hand that drops Octavian! Ryan lets Octavian back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Octavian seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Ryan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Octavian was well out of range. Poor timing from Ryan.
Octavian throws out a loose jab but Ryan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ryan only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Ryan lands a really nice looking cross but Octavian seems unphased.

Octavian tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Good leg kick by Ryan there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Octavian lands a glancing blow to the side of Ryan's head.
Ryan connects with a body shot that sends Octavian's belly button to the back.
Octavian lands an overhand right.
Ryan tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Octavian is able to avoid easily.
Ryan scores with a push kick.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Ryan in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ryan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Octavian finds it's way round the side to connect with Ryan's head.

Ryan drops Octavian with a beautiful combination! Octavian stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ryan is looking for the KO!
Oh Octavian is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ryan ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Octavian out cold! The fight is over!
