PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lowe Joazan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Clarke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joazan comes to the cage accompanied by The Sound of Silence. The crowd seem to be enjoying Clarke's choice of entrance music: March of Cambreadth. Michael Clarke is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lowe Joazan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Clarke!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joazan slips under a jab from Clarke.
Some wild striking there from Joazan.
Clarke throws a series of punches but Joazan avoids them all with ease.
Clarke walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Joazan checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Joazan looks to score with a jab to the body but Clarke is just out of range.
Sloppy strikes from Clarke. Those never looked like landing.
Joazan throwing a counter right hand but Clarke manages to avoid it.
Joazan doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Clarke clobbers Joazan with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Joazan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Joazan lunges at Clarke with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Clarke's hand.
Clarke wants to clinch.
Clarke tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Joazan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Joazan moves away from the strike by Clarke.
Clarke walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Joazan checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Clarke tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Joazan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Clarke to the mat! Clarke manages to get full guard.
Clarke is wriggling around but Joazan manages to pass to half guard.

Joazan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Joazan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Clarke tries to roll over but Joazan keeps him under control.
Joazan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Clarke felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Joazan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Clarke with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Clarke is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Joazan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Joazan lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Joazan is landing with some decent strikes but Clarke is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Clarke wants to hold on but Joazan pushes him away.
Joazan lands a couple of good shots and Clarke has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Clarke looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Joazan slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Clarke is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Joazan off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Joazan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Joazan lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lowe Joazan dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Clarke tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Joazan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Joazan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Joazan.

Joazan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Clarke is trying to hold Joazan in close to prevent damage but Joazan has managed to pass into half guard.

Joazan looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Joazan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Clarke for as long as he can get away with.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Joazan connects with a nice short shot to Clarke's temple.
Joazan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Clarke's head.

Joazan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Joazan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Clarke can do to turn this around?

and Joazan counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Clarke! He's just covering up as Joazan starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lowe Joazan!
