Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Dalton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Perkis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tony Perkis will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lou Dalton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tony Perkis!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perkis avoids a punch combination nicely.

Perkis is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dalton's half guard.

Dalton makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Perkis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
As Perkis looks to move away, Dalton throws a big counter combo but Perkis just gets out of the way.
Perkis bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dalton's head.

Dalton is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Perkis's half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Perkis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Perkis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dalton.
Perkis tries to kick Dalton off but Dalton keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Perkis pushes Dalton off and gets back to his feet.
Perkis tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Dalton is able to avoid easily.

Dalton moves into range and clinches up with Perkis.

Perkis would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Perkis wants to stand and escape but instead Dalton has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Dalton chips away with some ground and pound.
Perkis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dalton stands up over Perkis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Perkis wants to stand but Dalton is controlling the position.

Dalton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Perkis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dalton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dalton throws an elbow that misses. Perkis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dalton's guard. Nice move by Perkis!

Perkis wants to stand but Dalton is controlling his posture from full guard.
Dalton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dalton is adopting a defensive guard.
Dalton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dalton is working an open guard so Perkis takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Perkis closes the distance and pushes Dalton back into the cage.

Dalton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Perkis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Perkis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dalton manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perkis tries to bum rush Dalton with a series of wild strikes but Dalton uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dalton gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.


It looks like Lou Dalton has been cut.

Perkis darts in and clinches Dalton up against the cage.

Perkis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Perkis connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Perkis lands a slapping body shot.
Perkis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dalton moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dalton swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Sloppy strikes from Perkis. Those never looked like landing.
Perkis looks for the body kick but Dalton saw that one coming.
Dalton went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Perkis lands a nice looking body kick.
Tony Perkis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Perkis buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Dalton drops his hands momentarily and Perkis takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Dalton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Perkis.

Perkis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dalton seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Perkis misses with a series of wild punches.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Perkis falls off balance throwing a combination
and Dalton counters with a three punch combo that has Perkis backing up. Perkis nods at Dalton to acknowledge the strikes.
No joy there for Perkis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Perkis has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Dalton.
Dalton avoids the body shot from Perkis.

Perkis keeps control of Dalton as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Dalton tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Perkis smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lou Dalton. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Dalton counters with a left and a right that stings Perkis.

A frustrated look appears on Perkis's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Perkis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Perkis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dalton stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Perkis works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Perkis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Perkis wants to stand but Dalton has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Dalton pulls Perkis in close to his closed guard and prevents Perkis from doing any damage or advancing position.

Tony Perkis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Perkis. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Dalton throws a strike but Perkis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
