Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sung Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sung Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ricardo Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards is looking to clinch.
Cole tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Edwards manages to circle out of the way.
Cole has his takedown stuffed
letting Edwards counter with a right hand.
Cole could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Edwards works the jab nicely.
Edwards wants to clinch but Cole slips to the side

and Cole decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Edwards's guard.
Edwards keeping moving, preventing Cole from controlling successfully.
Edwards controls Cole momentarily but Cole frees himself.
Edwards is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cole throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Edwards works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Edwards is on top in guard.

Cole might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Edwards decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cole, up you get!

Edwards cracks Cole with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Cole keeps control of Edwards as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Edwards is looking to break free of the clinch but Cole has double underhooks.

Edwards lands a right hand that snaps the head of Cole backwards.

Edwards tries to stall but Cole uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Edwards tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Edwards breaks from the clinch.

Cole decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Cole is just content to waste time from the top position. Edwards takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cole accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cole scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Edwards to see if he's OK.

Edwards is trying to control Cole's posture but Cole avoids it.
Cole lands a nice forearm strike.
Edwards is trying to get back to half guard.
Edwards has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cole wants to lay and pray for a moment but Edwards keeps working.

Cole is looking to take a break and control but Edwards is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That was a close round but I would say that Sung Cole will probably get the nod.

Cole working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Edwards doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Edwards manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Edwards will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Cole up against the cage.

Cole's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Ricardo Edwards showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Edwards doesn't manage to clinch there - Cole circles away.
Edwards throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cole stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Edwards has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Edwards dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Oh Cole is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Edwards drives through and clinches with Cole against the cage.
Edwards throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Edwards lands a big right hand that drops Cole! The killer instinct kicks in and Edwards finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Edwards!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricardo Edwards!
