Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Hunter Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andriy Pavlyuchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Love the way you hate me . Pavlyuchenko is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Darkness Within. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson throws a leg kick
and Pavlyuchenko counters with a left to the body.
The fighters circling - Thompson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hunter Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thompson throws a jab when Pavlyuchenko was well out of range.
Pavlyuchenko throws a low kick but Thompson avoids it.
Thompson misses the body punch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
No joy there for Thompson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Thompson loads up on a big right hand but Pavlyuchenko slips the punch.

Pavlyuchenko lands a nice hook to Thompson's body. Thompson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Pavlyuchenko counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Pavlyuchenko paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Thompson takes one to the chin there.
Pavlyuchenko has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

It looks like Hunter Thompson has been cut.
A solid leg kick lands there for Pavlyuchenko.

Pavlyuchenko cracks Thompson with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Thompson is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Thompson is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!

Thompson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Pavlyuchenko counters with a straight right, followed by a hook and finally a brutal uppercut! Thompson drops to the canvas, flat on his back and unconcious - no need for the referee to start the count as this one is all over! Pavlyuchenko struts around like it's just an every day occurrence to knock someone out in such brutal fashion. A dominant finish for Pavlyuchenko!
