Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Scott Columbus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dam Son (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Columbus comes to the ring accompanied by Blood Of The Kings. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dam Son!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Son moves out of range of the body kick from Columbus.
Columbus steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Son. That one must have hurt.

letting Columbus counter with a right hand.
Columbus takes one to the chin there.

Son forces Columbus back against the ropes and clinches.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Columbus creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
I was talking to Columbus's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As Son tries to get set, Columbus tries to push him back and clinch up but Son manages to avoid the attempt.

Dam Son showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Son throws out a head kick that Columbus doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Columbus crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Columbus's eyes and has decided to let it go on!

and Son counters with a nice uppercut that drops Columbus onto his backside! Columbus bounces straight back to his feet before we have a chance to even start the count. He'll get the standing 8 count anyway before we get back underway.

Columbus fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Son has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Dam Son comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Son has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Dam Son tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
