Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wilmer Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henrik Johnsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henrik Johnsen has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Wilmer Walter's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wilmer Walter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Henrik Johnsen!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnsen rushes Walter and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Johnsen.


It looks like Wilmer Walter has been cut.
Walter jumps guard but Johnsen stands there with Walter around his waist. Walter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Walter tries to land knees in the clinch but Johnsen avoids the damage to the body.
Johnsen tries to throw a body punch but Walter avoids it by throwing Johnsen back against the cage.
Walter jumps guard but Johnsen stands there with Walter around his waist. Walter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Johnsen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Walter could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
No luck for Walter with that takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Johnsen moves into the clinch.

and Walter counters with an outside leg kick.
Walter dodges the punch combination from Johnsen.

Johnsen clinches up with Walter and pushes him back against the cage.
Johnsen drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Walter gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Johnsen stops a takedown attempt from Walter.

Johnsen breaks the clinch.
Johnsen walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Walter checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Walter has taken the fight to the clinch.
A short right from Johnsen.
The referee is keeping an eye on Johnsen - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Johnsen prevents a takedown attempt there.
Walter is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Johnsen gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Johnsen has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Henrik Johnsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnsen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Walter seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Johnsen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Walter avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Johnsen manages to break the clinch.

Johnsen closes the distance and pushes Walter back into the cage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Wilmer Walter will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Walter is trying to control. Johnsen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Walter stands up and beckons Johnsen to join him on the feet.

Sloppy strikes from Johnsen. Those never looked like landing.
Walter shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnsen sprawls well. He's pushed Walter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Walter has closed the distance and engaged Johnsen in a clinch.

Walter pulls guard successfully.

Walter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnsen's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnsen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Nice uppercut lands for Walter. That snapped Johnsen's head back.
Henrik Johnsen seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Walter gets a takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Walter connects with a nice short shot to Johnsen's temple.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wilmer Walter.
I think Walter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
