Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Hamil (ranked 3258 p4p, 457 weight class) and Mike Smith (ranked 4233 p4p, 568 weight class). Hamil kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I want to know what love is. Smith has chosen Therion - Sitra Ahra as his entrance music. Mike Smith will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Hamil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
19 - 23 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Smith!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamil fails with a takedown attempt.
Hamil moves to clinch but Smith breaks away
and Smith counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like David Hamil has been cut.
Hamil shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hamil was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hamil goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Smith rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hamil's guard! Nice work there by Smith!
Hamil is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Quick Fingers BEST BANG FOR BUCK Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Hamil working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Smith has passed into half guard!
Smith trying to control the pace.
Smith is continuing to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hamil actively working from the bottom here.
Hamil is looking to get back to full guard here but Smith has managed to pass to side control instead.
Smith stands up and beckons Hamil to his feet.
Smith lands a big head kick that sends Hamil tumbling to the mat! Smith takes a step backwards and waves Hamil back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Hamil is rocked!
Smith pushes Hamil up against the cage in a clinch.
Smith stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Hamil stalling in the clinch but Smith improves position.
Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hamil gets tackled into the cage by Smith. Smith maintains the clinch.
Hamil drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hamil is trying to pull guard but Smith turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Hamil. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hamil is breathing heavily.
Smith taking a breather.
Hamil's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Smith walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Hamil drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Smith swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Hamil's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Smith!
An out of breath and clearly excited Mike Smith thanked Mohito Fightwear (Laundry) for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
