The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gustafson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wanderlei looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Gustafson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wanderlei keeps working.
Gustafson wants to work for an arm triangle but Wanderlei is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gustafson is trying to work for a kimura but Wanderlei is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wanderlei regains full guard. Nicely done.
Wanderlei is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Gustafson has gone for a leg lock! Wanderlei slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gustafson's guard.

Gustafson is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Wanderlei has his hands clasped together but Gustafson extends and breaks Wanderlei's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Gustafson.
