Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcfarland shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mcfarland showed some decent athleticism there.
Tan is trying to escape back to his feet but Mcfarland uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Check out the look on Mcfarland's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Tan takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mcfarland asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Mcfarland stands up.
Mcfarland shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tan's guard.
Tan wants to get back to his feet but Mcfarland passes into half guard.

Mcfarland decides to return to a standing position.
Mcfarland manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tan on his heels. He'll look to pass Tan's guard now, I'm sure.
Tan wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Mcfarland manages to pass to side control.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mcfarland connects with a nice short shot to Tan's temple.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mcfarland looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mcfarland has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mcfarland scores with a big shot! Tan's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Tan! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
