Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Holer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jorge Garcia and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez scores with a hook.
Cortez cracks Holer with a good jab.
Cortez misses the jab.
The crowd cheers as Holer lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cortez doesn't seem phased though.
Cortez circles away from the clinch attempt
and Holer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Holer tries to clinch but Cortez moves out of range.
Holer bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cortez's head backwards.

Holer's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Cortez connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Holer scrambles back to his feet.

Holer might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Holer pushes Cortez back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Holer lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Holer swings wildly with an uppercut but Cortez uses good head movement to avoid it.

Cortez closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Holer connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Cortez's hands.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cortez tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Cortez can't find room to land a body shot as Holer controls the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

It looked like Cortez was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
