The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryan misses with a leg kick

and Grimes counters by clinching up.
Grimes jumps guard but Bryan stands there with Grimes around his waist. Grimes gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Grimes tries to pull guard but Bryan won't allow it.

Bryan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Bryan clinches up against the cage.
Come on Bryan - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bryan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Bryan thows a huge punch but Grimes dodges it nicely.
Grimes is trying to maintain the position but Bryan is very close to passing his half guard.
Bryan should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Well, if Bryan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Bryan tries to stand and escape but Grimes is controlling the position.

Grimes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bryan wants to pass the guard but Grimes is defending well.

Bryan is looking to stand but Grimes has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Bryan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Grimes is desperately trying to improve his position but Bryan has a good base and remains in mount.
Bryan controlling the pace for now.
Grimes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bryan on the ground.

Bryan lands a couple of good shots and Grimes has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Bryan thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bryan is working for a rear naked choke. Grimes is not defending it well and Bryan has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Grimes refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Grimes's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
