The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Dodd.
A quick step to the side and Steve tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Steve misses with a wild body shot.
Steve definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Fred Dodd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steve misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Dodd.
Dodd misses with a wild combination.
Dodd thows a left - swing and a miss!

and Dodd counters with a series of strikes. Steve will be more careful next time no doubt.
Steve throws a looping overhand right but Dodd ducks down to avoid it.
Dodd appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Steve is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dodd.

Dodd ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Steve works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Steve breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Steve cracks a nice hook into Dodd's ribs.
Dodd looks winded!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dodd takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

and Dodd counters with a left and a right that stings Steve.
Steve just misses with a punch to the body.
Dodd is looking to clinch.
Steve throwing a counter right hand but Dodd manages to avoid it.
Dodd uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Steve.
Dodd will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dodd takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Steve tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dodd was well out of range. Poor timing from Steve.
Despite the aggression on Dodd's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Oooooh!!! Steve has knocked Dodd down with a huge combo! Steve steps away and waves a wobbly Dodd back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Steve swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Dodd has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
BAM! Steve delivers a spinning backfist that drops Dodd like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
