Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rene Simard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nardong Putik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nardong Putik has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rene Simard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nardong Putik!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putik leaves Simard with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Putik throws a good cross that connects.
Simard moves to clinch but Putik breaks away
and Simard takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Putik lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Simard misses with a takedown attempt
and Putik counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Simard with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Putik to score with a decent uppercut.
Nardong Putik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Simard takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Simard is rocked!
The fight stays on the outside here - Simard looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Oh Simard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Simard drives through with a takedown into Putik's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Simard seems to have got his legs back now.

Simard thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Putik working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Simard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Simard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Putik is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Simard wants to control from the top but Putik keeps moving.
Simard stops Putik from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Simard drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Simard jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Putik is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Simard wants to control from the top but Putik keeps moving.

Simard is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Putik isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Simard stacks Putik on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Simard!

Simard has hold of Putik's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Putik seems comfortable defending it but Simard has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Putik is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Putik is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Simard couldn't care less - he's delighted!
