Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fritz Hobbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fritz Hobbs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonathan Walker!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker goes for a double leg but Hobbs avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hobbs continues to drive forward.
Walker fails with a takedown attempt.
Hobbs was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Hobbs doesn't manage to clinch there - Walker circles away.
Walker tries to bum rush Hobbs with a series of wild strikes but Hobbs uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hobbs is looking to clinch.
Walker misses with a takedown attempt
and Hobbs counters with a straight right hand.
Fritz Hobbs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonathan Walker.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walker throws a series of punches but Hobbs avoids them all with ease.
Walker throws a head kick that misses.
Hobbs throws a quick counter kick to the body but Walker avoids it.
Walker has his takedown stuffed
and Hobbs connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Hobbs leaves Walker with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hobbs has managed to clinch.
Walker is trying to pull guard but Hobbs turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Walker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Walker throws a series of punches but Hobbs moves out of range.
Jonathan Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walker closes the distance and clinches up with Hobbs, looking for a takedown. Walker pushes Hobbs against the cage but Hobbs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Hobbs counters with a straight right hand.

Hobbs darts in and clinches Walker up against the cage.
Hobbs changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Walker fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Hobbs gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Walker is trying to break the clinch but Hobbs has him pressed against the cage.

Hobbs gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Walker manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Hobbs keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hobbs tries to score a body lock takedown but Walker shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Walker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hobbs moves into the clinch.

A bit of stalling here from Walker.
Walker is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hobbs to keep the fight standing.
Hobbs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hobbs tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Walker just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hobbs tries to break the clinch but Walker is controlling the position.
Walker is looking to take this one to the mat.
Hobbs fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Hobbs has picked Walker up - he's going for a ride! Hobbs dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Walker tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Hobbs manages to move to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hobbs with a couple of short strikes.
Hobbs throwing strikes here but Walker is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Hobbs trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hobbs lands with some strikes.
Hobbs avoids the attempt from Walker to control.
Hobbs sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Hobbs swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Walker is now in Hobbs's guard. A big mistake from Hobbs there, giving up the dominant position!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fritz Hobbs dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Walker fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Walker stalks Hobbs and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hobbs's face. Hobbs staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Fritz Hobbs has been cut.
A thudding body kick lands there by Walker!
Hobbs is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hobbs displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Walker.

Walker drives through and clinches with Hobbs against the cage.
Hobbs tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Walker smiles and moves away.

Walker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hobbs has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hobbs has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Walker avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Walker goes for a takedown attempt but Hobbs pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Hobbs counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Walker takes the fight into the clinch.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Walker prevents the takedown attempt.
Hobbs tries to pull guard but Walker holds him up against the cage and eventually Hobbs drops back down to his feet.

Hobbs has Walker pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Walker manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Hobbs is fighting off a takedown attempt but Walker is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hobbs to the mat. Hobbs regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Walker wants to pass the guard but Hobbs is keeping the position.

Hobbs uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Hobbs tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Walker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Walker is defended easily by Hobbs.
It looked like Hobbs was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Walker.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonathan Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Fritz Hobbs's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Walker shoots in but no luck this time.

Hobbs closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Walker blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Walker jumps guard and drags Hobbs to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Hobbs has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hobbs has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Walker is proving hard to escape from.
Walker is trying to hold Hobbs in close to prevent damage but Hobbs has managed to pass into half guard.

Walker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Walker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hobbs tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A combination from Walker does no damage.
Walker shoots and misses
enabling Hobbs to counter with a crisp jab.
Hobbs darts in looking for a takedown but Walker gets double underhooks and turns Hobbs into the cage.
Walker throws a series of punches but Hobbs avoids them all with ease.
An attempted straight right counter from Hobbs misses the target.
Hobbs shoots in but Walker avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Walker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Walker wants it to stay on the feet.

Walker connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hobbs's hands.

Hobbs has Walker pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hobbs pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Walker tumbling to the mat - Hobbs dives into Walker's guard.
Walker is controlling Hobbs's posture.
Walker wants to sweep here but Hobbs controlling him for the moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jonathan Walker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Walker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
