Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jody Cohen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Tamm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dennis Tamm has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jody Cohen's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jody Cohen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dennis Tamm!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Joseph Jones and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cohen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cohen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Tamm gets to his feet - Cohen follows without any prompting.

Cohen moves into the clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Cohen lands a right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cohen goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Tamm blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Tamm lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Jody Cohen has been cut.
Cohen tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Tamm avoids it.
Tamm blocking some punches.
Cohen pressing his opponent against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Tamm successfully pulls guard.

Tamm looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tamm looking for a sweep. Not yet Tamm, not yet.
Cohen engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Tamm is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Tamm trying to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Cohen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cohen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Tamm has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Cohen is looking to work some ground and pound but Tamm has wrist control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Tamm looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Cohen!

Cohen sneaks out the side door and pushes Tamm away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tamm changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cohen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Cohen explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Tamm shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cohen's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cohen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tamm defends well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tamm wants to control from the top but Cohen keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cohen trying to keep a closed guard but Tamm is proving a slippery customer.
Tamm connects with a couple of short punches.
Tamm cracks Cohen with a solid left hand.
Tamm passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Tamm controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jody Cohen will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Jody Cohen's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Tamm closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Tamm decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Cohen keeps the fight on the outside.
Tamm throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Cohen's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Tamm dives in looking to finish as Cohen flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Tamm's strikes! Tamm is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Cohen's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Cohen was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dennis Tamm!
