The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith drops his hands momentarily and Gattuso takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Gattuso throws a jab but it's blocked by Smith.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Smith.
Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smith misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smith on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Gattuso uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Smith has time to react.
Gattuso bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Smith's head backwards.
Gattuso darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Smith fails with an attempt to clinch.
Smith slips a straight right by Gattuso.
Smith tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Gattuso swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gattuso scores with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gattuso swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Smith looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Smith on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Smith gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Smith fails in his attempt to clinch.

An attempted straight right counter from Gattuso misses the target.
Gattuso throws an overhand right that drops Smith like a sack of potatoes! Gattuso dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
