Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cyrus Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jefferson Marcos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cyrus Potter has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Cyrus Potter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jefferson Marcos!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marcos closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Marcos trying to mount his opponent but Potter defends it.
Potter tries to get to full guard but Marcos has control of the leg.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Marcos connects with a nice short shot to Potter's temple.
Marcos perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Marcos wants to pass the guard but Potter is defending well.
Marcos content to control rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marcos thows a huge punch but Potter dodges it nicely.
Potter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marcos on the ground.
Marcos looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Potter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Marcos is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Potter has managed to free his arm - good work.

Potter is trying to maintain the position but Marcos is very close to passing his half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Marcos not doing much here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Potter shoots and misses

and Marcos counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Potter!
Marcos staying calm.
Marcos working away.

Marcos has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Marcos lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Marcos working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Potter tries to lock up and control but Marcos gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Marcos controlling his opponent.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Marcos working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Marcos lands a big shot there that rocks Potter but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Marcos fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Marcos content just to control the position here.
Marcos breaks from Potter's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Marcos lands with some strikes.

Marcos goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Potter is on top in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Marcos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jefferson Marcos dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Marcos rushes Potter and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Potter tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Marcos smiles and moves away.
Potter dives in for a single leg takedown but Marcos sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Potter bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Marcos's head backwards.

Marcos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Potter sprawls well initially but Marcos persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Potter wants to improve his position but Marcos is controlling well.
Marcos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Marcos content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Marcos is breathing heavily.

Marcos has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Potter wants to control but Marcos is keeping busy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Marcos prevents Potter from improving his position.
Well, if Marcos is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Marcos tries to clinch up.

Marcos shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Marcos was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Marcos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Potter keeps working.

Marcos is putting a hurting on Potter here, landing some big shots from side control.
Potter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Marcos wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Marcos controlling the position.
Marcos sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Potter is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Marcos is staying tight to Potter's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Marcos decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Marcos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marcos showed some decent athleticism there.
Potter wants to control but Marcos is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Potter looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Marcos seems to be working for a kimura but Potter defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jefferson Marcos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Marcos changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Potter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Marcos looking to control but instead Potter has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Potter is not content to let Marcos control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marcos is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Potter sees it coming and defends easily.
Marcos takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Potter keeping hold of Marcos's head, controlling as best he can.
Marcos is looking to advance position but Potter won't allow it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Marcos looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Potter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Marcos is controlling the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Potter is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Marcos misses with a double jab
and Potter counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jefferson Marcos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Potter drives through and clinches with Marcos against the cage.

Marcos decides to pull guard.
Marcos is trying to control the position but Potter postures up.
Marcos trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Marcos trying to keep a closed guard but Potter is proving a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Potter cracks Marcos with a solid left hand.
Marcos controls Potter momentarily but Potter frees himself.
Marcos preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Potter scores with a nice strike.
Potter tries to bum rush Marcos with a series of wild strikes but Marcos uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Marcos dives in and scores a takedown into Potter's guard.
Cyrus Potter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jefferson Marcos is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Marcos looking to sit in guard and control but Potter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


And that's the end of the fight!
Jefferson Marcos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Marcos winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
