Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Slavoljub Curcic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Drake Bell!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curcic gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bell counters with a stiff right hand.
Curcic takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Curcic fails with an attempt to clinch.
Curcic throws a head kick but Bell moves out of range.
Curcic shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Curcic misses with a wild body shot.
Good standup being displayed there by Bell as he connects with a hook.
Bell clinches.
Bell lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Curcic is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bell can't fight it off and eventually Curcic manages to take the fight to the floor. Bell looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Curcic postures up.
Bell pulls Curcic in to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Curcic is looking to work some ground and pound but Bell has wrist control.
Bell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Curcic advances to half guard.
Bell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Curcic is working away from the top position though.
Bell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Curcic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bell is holding on to half guard well.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bell trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Curcic lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bell hang on?
Curcic trying to control but Bell is having none of it.
Bell taking shots to the head.
Bell's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Curcic prevents Bell from getting the reversal.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bell can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bell is bucking up trying to escape but Curcic cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Curcic is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Bell to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bell shrugs it off.
Bell is looking to get to half guard.
Bell tries to improve his position but instead Curcic has taken his back!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bell prevents Curcic from getting a body triangle.
Bell rolls, trying to escape but Curcic keeps control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bell is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Curcic is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Bell is tapping out! This one is all over!
