Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tristan Fenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ozzy McKane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fenix kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is For Heavy Metal we will die!. McKane is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: SAIL - AWOLNATION. Ozzy McKane acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tristan Fenix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ozzy McKane!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKane on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Fenix. Fenix obviously looking to wear him down.
Nice takedown defense from McKane. No joy for Fenix on that attempt.
Fenix ducks right into an uppercut from McKane.
McKane tries to land a front kick but Fenix steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Fenix scores with a jab to the head.
McKane throws a head kick that Fenix semi-blocks.
McKane ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
McKane waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Fenix.
Fenix uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McKane.
Fenix throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McKane scores with a jab to the jaw.
A jab from Fenix does it's job there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McKane throws a hook to the side of Fenix's head but Fenix sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
McKane catches Fenix with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
McKane swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Fenix looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
McKane misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fenix.
McKane avoids the body shot from Fenix.
Fenix lands a jab to the head.
Fenix avoids the body shot from McKane.
Fenix drops down looking for a counter takedown but McKane sprawls and moves away.
Fenix moves out of range of the body kick.
Fenix swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

McKane with a body punch. A glancing blow.
McKane throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McKane throws an overhand right that lands on Fenix's shoulder, as Fenix tries to avoid the shot.
Fenix is looking to land body kicks.
McKane rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fenix moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fenix cracks McKane with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Fenix throws a nice inside leg kick.
Fenix displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McKane throws out the jab.
Fenix closes this distance looking for a takedown but McKane circles away.
Ozzy McKane is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McKane throws a right and a left that Fenix avoids nicely.
McKane throws a right and a left that both miss.
McKane throws a lazy uppercut

and Fenix counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fenix not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Fenix thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McKane's head.
McKane controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

McKane tries to get to full guard but Fenix has control of the leg.
Fenix wants to take a breather but McKane is having none of it.
McKane keeping control of the position.
Fenix working McKane over with strikes.
McKane tries to roll over but Fenix keeps him under control.
McKane has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fenix is working away from the top position though.

McKane is looking for a sweep. Fenix is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Fenix seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McKane does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Fenix lands with a punch from half guard.
Fenix looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Fenix stalling away here and it's allowed McKane to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McKane seems keen to control Fenix's posture.
Fenix landing with the ground and pound.

Fenix postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McKane has Fenix pulled in close to control his posture.
Fenix loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McKane pulls Fenix in to control the position.
Fenix scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Fenix is working McKane over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
McKane not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McKane has control of Fenix's left arm, preventing Fenix from doing any damage.

Fenix thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tristan Fenix will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Fenix takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That kick from Fenix tenderised McKane's leg. McKane is trying to keep his angry face on.
A punch combination from Fenix misses.
McKane swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
McKane tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fenix was well out of range. Poor timing from McKane.
An attempted straight right counter from Fenix misses the target.
McKane throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Fenix counters with a single leg into guard. McKane didn't expect that.
Fenix missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Fenix wants to control from the top but McKane keeps moving.
Fenix with a flurry of punches that miss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fenix being controlled here momentarily.
Fenix connects with a couple of short punches.

Fenix trying to control the position from guard on top but McKane is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fenix throws a big right hand that misses.

McKane is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
McKane is trying to control the position but Fenix postures up.
Fenix throwing strikes but missing.
Fenix chips away with some ground and pound.
McKane not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ozzy McKane has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Fenix keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McKane's head.
McKane controls Fenix momentarily but Fenix frees himself.
McKane preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
McKane keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McKane appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Fenix misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McKane.
McKane throws a body kick that misses
and Fenix counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A kick lands to the mid section there for McKane.

and Fenix counters with a nice double leg into side control. McKane won't be happy with that.
Fenix cracks McKane with a big right hand but McKane just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

McKane is being controlled here.

Fenix is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McKane is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
McKane takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Fenix trying to control the position but McKane is working away.
McKane is trying to control Fenix's posture but Fenix avoids it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McKane is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Tristan Fenix overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
McKane on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
McKane throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
McKane trying to hold on to Fenix's head to control him but Fenix postures up.
McKane is trying to control but Fenix passes into side control!
Fenix advances nicely into full mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
McKane slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tristan Fenix showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Fenix has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
