Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Squiggy Squirrelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashton Eaton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eaton has chosen Eminem - Berzerk as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Squiggy Squirrelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ashton Eaton!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Squirrelly lands with a cross.
Squirrelly has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Squirrelly scores with a jab to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Eaton.
Squirrelly lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Eaton fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Squirrelly avoids it really well and circles away.
Squirrelly attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Eaton wants to counter with a clinch but Squirrelly pushes him away.

Eaton drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Squirrelly looks to land a combination. Eaton sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Eaton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Squirrelly's waist but Squirrelly gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Eaton off to one side.
Squirrelly stuffs the takedown attempt from Eaton. Eaton gets slowly back to his feet.
Squirrelly keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Squiggy Squirrelly is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice defenses there by Eaton.
A jab lands there for Squirrelly.
Eaton tries for a takedown but Squirrelly circles away easily
and Squirrelly counters with a nice uppercut.
A head kick misses from Squirrelly.
Eaton thinks about the counter body kick.
Eaton shoots in but Squirrelly avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Squirrelly swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Eaton takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Squirrelly blocks a jab.
Squirrelly scores with a decent looking hook.
Squirrelly throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Squirrelly throws a head kick that Eaton semi-blocks.
Eaton moves forwards but Squirrelly connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Squirrelly jabs Eaton to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Eaton closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Squirrelly misses with a body punch.
Eaton blocks a body shot from Squirrelly.
Eaton tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Squirrelly smiles and moves away.
A big left from Squirrelly misses.
Eaton uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Squirrelly.

Squirrelly lands a jab to the nose.
Eaton shoots for a takedown but Squirrelly saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Eaton fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Eaton slips under a jab from Squirrelly.
Squirrelly leaves Eaton with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Squirrelly is looking to score with low kicks.
A left lands for Squirrelly.
Eaton tries for a takedown but Squirrelly circles away easily
letting Squirrelly counter with a right hand.
Squirrelly lands with a straight right. Eaton didn't see that one coming.
Eaton uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Squirrelly.
Squirrelly just misses with a punch to the body.
Squirrelly lands a right hook to the body.

Squirrelly scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Nice sprawl there from Squirrelly as Eaton shoots in.
Squirrelly connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Eaton ducks under a wild hook from Squirrelly.
Eaton unleashes a big counter combination but Squirrelly bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Squirrelly misses with a series of wild punches.
Squirrelly fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Eaton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Squirrelly connects with a single shot there.
Eaton takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Squirrelly missing with a left hand there. Eaton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Eaton throws a counter combo.
Squirrelly lands with a good body shot.
Squirrelly throws a body shot but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Squiggy Squirrelly dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Eaton dives in for a single leg takedown but Squirrelly sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Eaton closes the distance and clinches up with Squirrelly, looking for a takedown. Eaton pushes Squirrelly against the cage but Squirrelly circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Eaton dives in and grabs Squirrelly's left leg, looking for a takedown. Squirrelly pushes down on Eaton's head and hops out.
Squiggy Squirrelly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ashton Eaton.
Squirrelly slips under a jab from Eaton.
The crowd cheers as Squirrelly lands an impressive looking overhand right. Eaton doesn't seem phased though.

Squirrelly parries the strikes from Eaton easily there. Eaton is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Squirrelly to escape.

Squirrelly is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Eaton can do to turn this around?
Eaton lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Squirrelly down.

Eaton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Eaton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Squirrelly is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Eaton is controlling him well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Squirrelly is looking for a sweep. Eaton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Squirrelly is trying to stand back up but Eaton is controlling him

Eaton seems to be working for a kimura but Squirrelly defends the submission attempt.
Squirrelly tries to kick Eaton off but Eaton keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Squirrelly gets full guard.
Eaton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Eaton content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Eaton prevents Squirrelly from getting back to his feet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Squirrelly is on top in guard.

Squirrelly wanted to stand there but Eaton had control of the position.

Squirrelly gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Eaton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Squirrelly was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Squirrelly ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Eaton moves away.

Eaton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Eaton's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Eaton is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag.

Eaton changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Squirrelly looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Eaton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Squirrelly keeps working.
Eaton cracks Squirrelly with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Eaton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Squirrelly, who protects the arm well.
Squirrelly is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Eaton is controlling him well.
Squiggy Squirrelly is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Squirrelly tries to buck Eaton off but Eaton is having none of it.

Eaton is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Squirrelly is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Eaton scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Squirrelly to see if he's OK.

Squirrelly holds on to Eaton's head and controls the position momentarily.
You can see the frustration on Squirrelly's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Eaton is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Squirrelly is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Eaton tries to move into full mount but can't pass Squirrelly's legs.
Ashton Eaton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Squirrelly pushes Eaton away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Eaton gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Squirrelly throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Squirrelly scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight!
Squiggy Squirrelly showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Squirrelly, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
