Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Patton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nickolas Bryant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patton kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Converge - Dark Horse. Jack Patton has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patton pushes Bryant up against the cage in a clinch.
Bryant has a couple of punches blocked by Patton.
A nice left hand lands by Patton.
Patton lands a nice uppercut.
Bryant is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
I was talking to Patton's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Patton lands an elbow inside that Bryant shrugs off.

It looks like Nickolas Bryant has been cut.
Bryant wants a takedown.
Bryant changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Patton fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Bryant counters with a shoot takedown. Patton fights it but they end up in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bryant accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Patton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Patton circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Bryant drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Patton follows Bryant to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
