The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Obama tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sennin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Obama somewhat.
Sennin lands with a shot to the body.
Obama takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Sennin takes one to the side of the head.
Sennin looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Sennin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Obama.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Obama moves in looking to clinch but Sennin pushes him off.
Sennin tries to score with a low kick but Obama moves his leg out of the way.
Sennin scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Sennin tries to land a leg kick but Obama saw it coming and moves away.
Obama tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
A punch combination from Obama misses.
Obama takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Kame Sennin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sennin slips a jab and a cross from Obama.
Sennin sizes up Obama with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Obama checks a low kick from Sennin.
Obama shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sennin as he jumps to the side.
Kame Sennin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barack Obama.
Obama stuns Sennin with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Sennin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Mello MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Obama takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Obama closes the distance and clinches.
Sennin misses with some punches.

Obama turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Obama goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Sennin rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Obama's guard! Nice work there by Sennin!

Obama bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sennin's guard.

Sennin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Obama on the ground.
Obama tries to free his leg and advance position but Sennin is retaining full guard.
