Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Junior Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Avila Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez has chosen Barbarian by The Darkness as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Dos Santos enables Alvarez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dos Santos manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Dos Santos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Alvarez stands up over Dos Santos, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Alvarez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Dos Santos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alvarez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Dos Santos is tightening it up a little... Alvarez has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Alvarez reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Alvarez taps out! Nice BJJ there by Dos Santos!
