Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Arnulfo King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Krocidal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy Krocidal has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Arnulfo King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Krocidal !
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Krocidal is predictable there
and King counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
King fails to land the takedown.

King gets caught flat footed, as Krocidal shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Krocidal trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
King is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
King is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Krocidal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as King works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Krocidal looking to sit in guard and control but King gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


King gets to his feet - Krocidal follows without any prompting.
King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Krocidal swivels and escapes.
Krocidal throws a counter combo.
King tests Krocidal 's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Krocidal looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

King clinches with his opponent.
King is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arnulfo King. That's going to take a lot out of him.

King has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Krocidal uses from the top position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

King is trying to pull guard but Krocidal turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
King goes for a takedown in the clinch but Krocidal prevents it.

Krocidal blocks the strikes from King.
Krocidal not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
King wants to control but Krocidal is keeping busy.

Krocidal looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Krocidal throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

King is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Krocidal tries to pass to full mount but King defends it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Krocidal shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. King is trying to defend but Krocidal finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Krocidal connects with a nice short shot to King's temple.
King throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Krocidal throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing King to regain full guard.

Krocidal is looking to work some ground and pound but King has wrist control.
Krocidal slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

King tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Krocidal defends well and King ends up having to push Krocidal into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Despite the aggression on Krocidal 's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
King doesn't manage to clinch there - Krocidal circles away.

King shoots in and drives through. Krocidal sprawls well.

Krocidal keeping moving, preventing King from controlling successfully.
King wants to get up but he can't break Krocidal 's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
King will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
King engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
King has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

King is not content to let Krocidal control the position.
King really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Krocidal tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Krocidal has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

King throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Krocidal has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
King manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
King tries to stand and escape but Krocidal is controlling the position.
Krocidal slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
King is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

King stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Krocidal shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in King's guard.
King bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Krocidal 's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Krocidal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



King closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Krocidal 's guard.
Krocidal controls King momentarily but King frees himself.
Krocidal has control of King's left arm, preventing King from doing any damage.
King wants to stand but Krocidal has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

King decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

King would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

King stands up and waves to Krocidal to follow him.
Krocidal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Krocidal wants it to stay on the feet.
And Krocidal responds with a good body kick, but King manages to step out the way in time.

King drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

King decides to stand up, so the ref orders Krocidal to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

King has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Krocidal avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
King jumps guard but Krocidal turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Arnulfo King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Arnulfo King.
Well Krocidal has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
