The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez throws a sloppy head kick
and White counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Alvarez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by White.
Alvarez looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
White throws a sloppy head kick and Alvarez moves out of range easily.
Alvarez with the counter takedown but White avoids it easily.
White misses with a few strikes there.
Alvarez dives in for a single leg takedown but White sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
White lands with a nice combination. Alvarez backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Eduardo Alvarez has been cut.

White is pressed up against the cage. Alvarez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag White down to the mat. White avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
