Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dean Sutherland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sam Malone!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Sutherland lands an impressive looking overhand right. Malone doesn't seem phased though.
The fighters circling - Malone throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Malone walks into a jab.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Malone has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Sutherland avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Malone on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Malone throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sutherland changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Malone tries to avoid it but Sutherland manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Malone to the ground. Malone escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sutherland walks into a straight right hand from Malone.
Nice straight punches there by Malone. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Malone.
Sutherland fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Malone cracks Sutherland with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Malone lands a nice shot that snaps Sutherland's head back.
Malone tests Sutherland's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Malone misses with a hook. Sutherland ducked under it nicely.
Sutherland takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Malone throws a hook but Sutherland blocks it.
Nice body punch from Sutherland.
Sutherland avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sutherland bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Malone's head.
Sutherland wants to clinch up but Malone keeps it at a distance.
Malone looks to land a right hand but Sutherland moved out of range.

Malone tries to keep at a distance but Sutherland has taken the fight into the clinch.
Malone misses with some punches.

Sutherland breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Malone throws a hook but Sutherland avoids it easily.
Sutherland smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Sutherland uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Malone.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Malone bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Malone ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Malone! But no joy.
Sutherland slips a jab and a cross from Malone.
Malone is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Sutherland.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A swing and a miss from Sutherland.
Sutherland takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Malone throws a hook to the side of Sutherland's head but Sutherland sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Malone pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sutherland throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That kick from Sutherland tenderised Malone's leg. Malone is trying to keep his angry face on.
Malone circles away from the clinch attempt.
Good exchange - Malone coming out on top.
A big right from Malone misses.
Sutherland jabs Malone to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Malone throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sutherland sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Sutherland slips under a jab.
It looked like Sutherland was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Sutherland throws a right hand that Malone ducks under and follows up with a left that Malone also avoids with ease.
Malone misses the jab.
Malone misses with a looping right.
Malone throws a looping overhand right but Sutherland ducks down to avoid it.
Malone might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Malone throws out a loose jab but Sutherland uses good head movement to avoid it.
Malone lands a lovely overhand right.

Sutherland swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Malone throws the left hand but Sutherland avoids the punch easily.
Sutherland throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sutherland throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Malone to counter with a crisp jab.
Malone moves out of range of the leg kick from Sutherland.

and Malone counters by moving into the clinch.
Sutherland will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Malone up against the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Sutherland.

Sutherland pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sutherland looks to throw the jab but Malone is out of range.
Dean Sutherland seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sutherland misses with a right hand
and Malone connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sutherland uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Malone has time to react.
Malone's corner calls for a 1-2. Malone obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Sutherland's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Malone connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Sutherland scrambles back to his feet.

Oooooh!!! Malone has knocked Sutherland down with a huge combo! Malone steps away and waves a wobbly Sutherland back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Sutherland is rocked!


It looks like Dean Sutherland has been cut.
Malone fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Sutherland out cold! Brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Sam Malone!
An out of breath Sam Malone thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
