PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Engilsh Wrench (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Armando Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wrench's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Crazy Train. Gracie has chosen America Fuck Yeah as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Engilsh Wrench!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Armando Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wrench shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wrench was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Wrench throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Wrench thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Gracie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gracie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wrench wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Wrench tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Gracie slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Wrench bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gracie's guard.

Our spies down at at London MMA Club inform us that Gracie has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wrench manages to get himself to full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Engilsh Wrench will probably get the nod.

Wrench shoots for a double leg takedown but Gracie sprawls well. He's pushed Wrench's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Gracie tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Wrench looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gracie is fending him off so far but Wrench persists. Nope, Gracie circles away and we're back to standing.
