PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Adam Gallagher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Rodgers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gallagher might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rock N Roll Star. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gallagher ducks under a wild hook from Rodgers.

Rodgers looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rodgers throwing shots but Gallagher is blocking nicely.
Rodgers missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Rodgers is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rodgers thows a huge punch but Gallagher dodges it nicely.
Gallagher is trying is best to control the position here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gallagher works his way to full guard. Good work.
Rodgers trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rodgers's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Rodgers won't allow Gallagher to sweep him here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodgers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gallagher swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rodgers gets to his feet - Gallagher follows without any prompting.
Gallagher on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

It looks like Adam Gallagher has been cut.
Rodgers connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gallagher's hands.

Rodgers gets a takedown into half guard.

Gallagher is rocked!
Rodgers tries to stand but can't do so whilst Gallagher controls his leg.
Oh Gallagher is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Rodgers seems to be looking for submissions.
Gallagher seems to have got his legs back now.
Rodgers scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Gallagher kicks off Rodgers and gets to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gallagher throws a predictable looking body shot
and Rodgers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rodgers scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Gallagher shoots in for a takedown but Rodgers shows good takedown defense.
Rodgers shoots in looking for a takedown but Gallagher manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rodgers's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gallagher walks straight into a right hand from Rodgers - that's dropped him! Rodgers jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Gallagher from any more punishment! Gallagher complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
