The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assad dives in for a single leg takedown but Vlasov sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Assad shoots for a takedown but Vlasov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Vlasov moves into the clinch.
Vlasov throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Nice body punch from Vlasov - that landed with a thud.
Assad is trying to stall.
Assad tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vlasov smiles and moves away.
Oleg Vlasov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dustin Assad.

Vlasov closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Assad's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vlasov gets to his feet. Assad looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Assad gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Vlasov to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Assad looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Assad looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Vlasov is defending well. Assad quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Vlasov has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Assad celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
