Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between William Morin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devon Van Reek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Morin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Devon Van Reek!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Van Reek tries to keep at a distance but Morin has taken the fight into the clinch.
Van Reek looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Morin has clasped his hands together around Van Reek's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Morin tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Morin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Morin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The strikes coming from Morin are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Morin wants to stand but Van Reek is controlling his arm.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Morin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Morin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Morin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Morin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Morin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Van Reek's head.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Morin manages to pull guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Van Reek working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Morin is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Van Reek throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Morin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Morin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Van Reek, pushing him back against the cage.

Van Reek turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Van Reek manages to end up in side control.
Morin dodges the ground and pound from Van Reek.
William Morin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Morin wants to control but Van Reek postures up.
Van Reek throws an elbow but Morin slips to the side and avoids it well.

Van Reek sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Morin is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Van Reek is breathing heavily.

Morin avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Van Reek.
Morin is trying to control Van Reek's posture but Van Reek avoids it.
Morin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Van Reek can do to turn this around?
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Van Reek throws a strike aimed at the side of Morin's head but Morin avoids it well.
Morin sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Morin is looking to control Van Reek's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Morin avoid being mounted?

Morin has picked Van Reek up - he's going for a ride! Morin dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Van Reek wants to control the action here but instead Morin manages to pass to full mount!

Morin wants to control the pace but Van Reek is squirming around nicely.
Morin misses with a head shot.

Morin is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Van Reek is surviving well by controlling Morin's body position as best he can.

Morin throws a sloppy strike and Van Reek uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Van Reek has ended up in Morin's guard.

Van Reek drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Morin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Van Reek has Morin in his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William Morin dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Morin clinches up with Van Reek and pushes him back against the cage.

Morin works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Morin wants to stand but Van Reek is controlling his posture from full guard.

Morin decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Morin wants the takedown. Van Reek is fighting it off but Morin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Van Reek's guard against the cage.

Morin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Morin has managed to clinch.

Morin gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Van Reek regains guard.

Van Reek lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Van Reek throws an elbow that misses. Morin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Van Reek's guard. Nice move by Morin!

Morin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Morin's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Morin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Morin wants to control from the top but Van Reek keeps moving.
Morin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

William Morin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Morin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
