PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Koboko Dada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitri Dmitrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dada's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Welcome to Jamrock. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Koboko Dada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitri Dmitrov!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Columbo Gatti and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dmitrov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dada avoids it really well and circles away.

Dmitrov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dada tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dmitrov is in Dada's guard.

Dada pushes Dmitrov off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Dmitrov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Dada counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Dada pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dada seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Dada fails in his attempt to clinch.
Dada throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dmitrov.
Dada connects with a single shot there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dmitrov gets caught napping as Dada dives in and scores a takedown. Dmitrov manages to retain guard.

Dada is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Dmitrov controlling the position.
Dmitrov keeping moving, preventing Dada from controlling successfully.
Dada postures up in Dmitrov's guard and throws a big left but Dmitrov blocks it.
Dada stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dmitrov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dmitrov wants to hit a switch here but Dada passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Dmitrov there!
Dada tries to control but Dmitrov wriggling away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Dmitrov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dada has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dmitrov's face.
Dmitrov tries to hold on but Dada pushes him away.
Dada tries to control but Dmitrov wriggling away.
BOOM! Dada connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dada pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Dada landing strikes, looking to finish!
Dmitrov in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Dada has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dmitrov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dmitrov wants to control but Dada is having none of it.
Dada with shots to the head and body - Dmitrov looks very uncomfortable down there.

Dada can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dmitrov is looking to escape.

Dada is landing with some decent strikes but Dmitrov is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Dmitrov takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dada is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dada fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dada cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Koboko Dada dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Dada connects with a crisp jab.
Koboko Dada is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dada connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Dmitrov looks for a takedown but Dada sprawls well.
Dada's jab looks to have found its range, popping Dmitrov under the eye.
Dada scores with a one two! Dmitrov had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Dada cracks Dmitrov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Dada is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dmitrov can do to turn this around?

enabling Dmitrov to counter with a crisp jab.

Dada gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Dada is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Dmitrov can't fight it off and eventually Dada manages to take the fight to the floor. Dmitrov looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dmitrov is trying to control the position but Dada postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dmitrov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dada controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dmitrov is pulling down on Dada's head to control his posture.
Dada forces his way into half guard.
Dada lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Dmitrov is looking to escape.
Dada is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Dada sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dmitrov defending well though.

Dada trying to control the action but Dmitrov is working from the bottom.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dada lands a nice short elbow.
Dmitrov is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dada scores with a couple of nice shots.
Dada wants to take a breather but Dmitrov is having none of it.
Dada tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dmitrov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Dmitrov is trying to stand up here but Dada is controlling him well.
Dada working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Dmitrov regains full guard. Nicely done.
Dada works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Dada is pressing down on Dmitrov's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dmitrov is holding on for now.
Dmitrov is not content to let Dada control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dmitrov is controlling Dada's trapped leg to prevent Dada from advancing to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Dada feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Dmitrov wants to stand and escape but Dada is having none of it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dmitrov throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.

Dmitrov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dmitrov has an active guard here but Dada has managed to pass into half guard.
Dada is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Dmitrov!
Dmitrov is squirming around, avoiding Dada's attempts to control the action.
Dmitrov wants to hold on but Dada pushes him away.
Dmitrov tries to reverse the position but Dada maintains control.
Koboko Dada is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Koboko Dada overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Dmitrov in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Dada controlling his opponent.
Dada wants to control the pace but Dmitrov is squirming around nicely.
Dmitrov sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Dada is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Dada works his way into side control.

Dada trying to control the position but Dmitrov is working away.
Dada landing strikes.
Dmitrov isn't going anywhere.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dada wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dmitrov keeps working.
Dmitrov struggling a bit here.
Dmitrov is trying to get back to his feet.
Dada trying to control the action but Dmitrov is working from the bottom.
Dmitrov prevents Dada from moving into mount.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Koboko Dada showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Dada has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Koboko Dada decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
