Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mitchel Hatfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Ofa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ofa moves into range and clinches up with Hatfield.
Ofa letting Hatfield take a breather here.

Hatfield pulls guard.
Hatfield wants to stand and escape but Ofa is having none of it.
Hatfield tries to strike from the bottom.
Ofa stops Hatfield from standing up.
Ofa looking to sit in guard and control but Hatfield gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ofa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ofa is pulling down on Hatfield's head to control his posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hatfield avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Ofa has his foot on Hatfield's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hatfield works his way back into a safe position though.
Hatfield lands a couple of digs.
Ofa working a defensive guard but Hatfield passes into half guard.

Hatfield thows a huge punch but Ofa dodges it nicely.
Ofa moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Hatfield is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ofa is trying to control the position but Hatfield postures up.
Hatfield has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hatfield accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hatfield will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ofa wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Ofa's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Ofa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ofa rushes Hatfield and presses him up against the cage.
Hatfield is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Ofa wants to break free but Hatfield has control.
Hatfield tries to pull guard but Ofa won't allow it.
Hatfield has Ofa pushed against the cage.

Ofa turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ofa manages to end up in side control.

Hatfield explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ofa gets a double leg takedown into Hatfield's guard.
Ofa looks winded!

Hatfield has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Ofa off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
The fighters circling - Hatfield throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Hatfield closes the distance and pushes Ofa back into the cage.

Ofa successfully pulls guard.
Ofa wants to improve his position but instead Hatfield has moved into half guard.
Ofa is trying to get back to full guard.
Ofa wants to control the action here but instead Hatfield manages to pass to full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ofa manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hatfield on his heels. He'll look to pass Hatfield's guard now, I'm sure.

Ofa is posturing up here but Hatfield has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Ofa tries to roll out but it's too tight and Ofa has to tap! Slick submission there by Hatfield!
