Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Franjic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Santiago Holmes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Franjic tries to keep at a distance but Carter has taken the fight into the clinch.
Franjic has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Carter after a bit of a struggle.
Carter throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Carter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carter lands a really nice looking cross but Franjic seems unphased.
Carter connects with a body shot.
Carter misses with the combination.
Wayne Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter misses with a jab, cross combination.
Franjic shoots in looking for a takedown. Carter tries to sprawl out of it but Franjic keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Franjic takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Some wild striking there from Carter.
Carter throws a body kick that misses.
Franjic blocks a leg kick.

Franjic scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Franjic throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Carter is trying to control but can't.
Carter is looking to improve his position.
Carter tries to kick Franjic off but Franjic keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Carter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Franjic is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Franjic working Carter over with strikes.
Franjic is just content to waste time from the top position. Carter takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Franjic throws a big elbow that misses.
Franjic has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Franjic is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Carter controls Franjic momentarily but Franjic frees himself.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Carter with a hook.
Franjic fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carter avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Franjic. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Franjic dives in for a single leg takedown but Carter sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Franjic shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Carter counters with a nice uppercut.
Franjic is breathing heavily.
Franjic fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Carter bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Nice uppercut lands for Carter. That snapped Franjic's head back.
Franjic moves to clinch but Carter breaks away
letting Carter counter with a right hand.

Carter dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Franjic. That did some damage!
Franjic shoots in for a double leg but Carter sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A little jabbing left from Carter on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Carter goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Franjic darts in looking for a takedown but Carter gets double underhooks and turns Franjic into the cage.
Nice takedown defense from Carter. No joy for Franjic on that attempt.
A chopping leg kick lands by Carter.
Nice straight punches there by Carter. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Carter.
Carter lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Franjic is rocked!
Carter fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Franjic square on the jaw! Damn, Franjic is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
