PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Forest Gump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Li Lianjie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lianjie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Lianjie is working Gump over with some ground and pound from side control.
Gump trying to control but Lianjie flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
You can see the frustration on Gump's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Lianjie biding his time, looking for the opening.
Lianjie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gump. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lianjie is trying to stick to Gump's back but Gump is turning into Lianjie. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Lianjie's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Gump.

Gump is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gump trying to control but Lianjie is working from the bottom.
Lianjie keeping full guard, as Gump tries to pass.
Lianjie is pulling down on Gump's head. It's preventing any offense from Gump, at least for the moment.

Lianjie's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Gump with a flurry of punches that miss.
Gump trying to control but Lianjie is working from the bottom.
Lianjie looking for a sweep. Not yet Lianjie, not yet.
Gump works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Gump seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lianjie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Gump prevents Lianjie from standing back up.

Gump is working for a kimura but Lianjie is defending it quite comfortably.

Gump passes to full mount!
Lianjie wants to try and get back to his feet.

Gump working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Lianjie turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Gump off and cradles Lianjie's limp body as Gump celebrates with his corner.
