The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malone throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

It looks like Maro Veljanovski has been cut.
Malone fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Veljanovski looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Veljanovski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Malone's waist but Malone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Veljanovski off to one side.

Malone throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Veljanovski tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Malone is in Veljanovski's guard.

Malone gets to his feet. Veljanovski looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Veljanovski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Malone is fending him off so far but Veljanovski persists. Nope, Malone circles away and we're back to standing.

Malone shoots for a takedown but Veljanovski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Veljanovski drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Malone defends it well.

Veljanovski is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Malone throws a one two combo.
Malone works over Veljanovski's head and body with a nice combination.
Malone lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Malone.

Veljanovski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Malone pushes Veljanovski off, looking to escape but Veljanovski dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Malone is forced to tap! The fight is over!
