Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kostas Karelis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karelis comes to the cage accompanied by Sail - AwolNation. Smith has chosen Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by AC/DC as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Kostas Karelis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Ian Smith!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith is looking to slow Karelis down with leg kicks.
Smith misses with a left hand
and Karelis counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking.
Smith is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Karelis lands the left hand.
Karelis checks a low kick from Smith.
Good leg kick by Smith there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Smith looks to land a left hand but Karelis moved out of range nicely.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Karelis fires out a quick counter leg kick but Smith just manages to avoid it.
Karelis connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Smith momentarily.

Smith has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Smith lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Karelis misses with a left hand
and Smith counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Karelis throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Karelis thuds a left hand into Smith's body.
Karelis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Karelis tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Karelis scores with a nice head shot.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Our sources have told us that Karelis has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Smith looks winded!
Karelis lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Smith drops down looking for an ankle pick but Karelis pulls his leg out and moves away.

Smith throws out a counter right but Karelis avoids it with no problem.
Karelis throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Smith! But no joy.

Smith throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Karelis throws a half hearted mid kick.
Karelis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smith moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Smith misses with a hook.
Smith keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Smith throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Karelis stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Smith cracks Karelis with a right hand to the side of the head.

Smith takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Smith throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Karelis fires out a quick counter leg kick but Smith just manages to avoid it.
Karelis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away.
Karelis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smith was well out of range. Poor timing from Karelis.

Karelis jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Smith is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Karelis with a body shot.
Karelis stuns Smith with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Smith fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Karelis has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Karelis cracks Smith with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Karelis has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Smith to stand back up!


Smith is rocked!
Karelis ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Karelis finish him?

Karelis wants to clinch up but Smith keeps it at a distance.
Karelis throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Smith throws out a counter right but Karelis avoids it with no problem.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Karelis.
Karelis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away.
Smith throws a jab when Karelis was well out of range.
It looked like Karelis wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Smith scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Karelis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smith looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Karelis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Karelis creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Smith's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Smith drops to his knees and Karelis pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kostas Karelis!
Ian Smith was interviewed post fight and said 'I still don't have what it takes. I must train harder.'.
