Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Jack Gold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Riza Rakija!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rakija throws a head kick but Gold moves out of range.
Jab, jab by Rakija - just one landing.
Jack Gold seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gold lands with a nice body punch.
Rakija uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gold.
Gold slips a jab from Rakija.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gold enables Rakija to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gold manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Gold controls Rakija momentarily but Rakija frees himself.
Gold wants to sweep but no luck.
Rakija trying to control but Gold is working from the bottom.
Rakija won't allow Gold to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rakija content to stall in guard here.
Rakija advances position into side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rakija looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Gold is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Gold is staying active underneath Rakija, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Rakija is pressing down on Gold's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gold is holding on for now.

Rakija is looking for a kimura but Gold is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rakija to get the leverage.
Gold is in trouble now - Rakija has advanced to mount!
Gold can't escape the position.
Gold is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
My spies in Hellfire Antechamber inform me that Rakija has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gold is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gold stops Rakija from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Rakija looking to secure an arm triangle but Gold defends it well.
Rakija manages to capitalize on a mistake by Gold to take his back!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gold is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Rakija controlling well, preventing Gold from escaping the position.

Rakija is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Gold with him. Gold is trying to defend but Rakija has an arm under the chin now! Gold grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Riza Rakija!
Our winner, Riza Rakija, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
