The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whittaker wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Whittaker thuds a left hand into Matt's body.

Matt closes the distance and pushes Whittaker back into the ropes.
Matt scores with a nice hook to the head.
Matt lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes.
Matt swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Matt misses with a punch to the body.
A short body shot lands from Matt as the two fighters clinch.
Matt swings wildly with an uppercut but Whittaker uses good head movement to avoid it.
Whittaker blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Matt struggles to land a body shot inside as Whittaker controls his hands.

Whittaker tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Matt's elbow.

Whittaker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
