Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shamus McGillicuddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terunari Kagiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGillicuddy comes to the cage accompanied by DJ Shadow featuring Run The Jewels - Nobody Speak. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Shamus McGillicuddy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Terunari Kagiyama!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Franklyn Lucas and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGillicuddy darts in and clinches Kagiyama up against the cage.
Kagiyama has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by McGillicuddy after a bit of a struggle.
Good body shot from McGillicuddy.
Kagiyama is trying to work for a single leg takedown but McGillicuddy pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kagiyama throws a head punch that misses.
McGillicuddy keeps control of Kagiyama as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kagiyama tries to break free but McGillicuddy pushes him back against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kagiyama.
McGillicuddy lands with a short head shot on the inside.
McGillicuddy misses with a body punch.
A left hand lands to the body for McGillicuddy.
Kagiyama tries to score a body lock takedown but McGillicuddy shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Shamus McGillicuddy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terunari Kagiyama.
Kagiyama swings away with an uppercut that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McGillicuddy turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and McGillicuddy manages to end up in side control.

McGillicuddy wants to control but Kagiyama is keeping him busy.
McGillicuddy connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kagiyama some visible discomfort.

McGillicuddy fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Kagiyama takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
McGillicuddy in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Kagiyama gets back to half guard.
Kagiyama keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Kagiyama has hold of McGillicuddy's hands but McGillicuddy slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGillicuddy slows the pace down in half guard.
Kagiyama trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Kagiyama is trying desperately to improve position.
Kagiyama is bucking up trying to escape but McGillicuddy cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Kagiyama holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as McGillicuddy tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kagiyama tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McGillicuddy scores with a couple of good head shots there.
McGillicuddy has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
McGillicuddy looking to ground and pound but Kagiyama is blocking nicely.
Kagiyama wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by McGillicuddy.
McGillicuddy landing strikes from the mount and Kagiyama is in trouble!
McGillicuddy has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kagiyama's face.
Kagiyama is trying to escape the mount.
McGillicuddy sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kagiyama is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
McGillicuddy lands a big elbow.
McGillicuddy looking to ground and pound but Kagiyama is blocking nicely.
A nice elbow there by McGillicuddy.


Kagiyama is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Oooooh, big shot lands for McGillicuddy! Kagiyama is hurt baaadly! McGillicuddy is firing away with more strikes - Kagiyama is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shamus McGillicuddy!
Our winner, Shamus McGillicuddy, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
