PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Buck Futter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Doom kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Buck Futter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez lands the left hand.

Futter fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Alvarez sprawls well initially but Futter persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Futter seems content to control.
Alvarez looks like he's trying to stand up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Futter in particular looking to stall.

Futter is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Alvarez has managed to free his arm - good work.
Alvarez gets back to full guard.

Alvarez manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Alvarez throws a leg kick which misses Futter's front leg but catches the back leg as Futter tries to avoid it.
Alvarez throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Buck Futter has been cut.

Futter slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Alvarez wants to get back to his feet but Futter is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Futter remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Futter is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alvarez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A very excited looking Buck Futter made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
In defeat, Michael Alvarez stepped up to the mic, saying 'I admit defeat. He did a good job.'.
