PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Elias Lyon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darko Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vader comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Return of Darko kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Elias Lyon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Darko Vader!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vader lands a nice shot that snaps Lyon's head back.
Vader takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Lyon throws a shot to the body.
Vader lands with a thumping leg kick.
Vader throws a body shot but no joy.

Vader gets caught napping as Lyon dives in and scores a takedown. Vader manages to retain guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vader can do anything to dispel that myth.

Vader manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lyon manages to get himself to full guard.

Lyon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vader's guard.

Lyon stands and throws Vader's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Vader is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Lyon off and has taken his back!

Lyon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Lyon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vader is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

You can see the frustration on Vader's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Vader reaches up around Lyon's neck trying to control. But Lyon takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Vader! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Vader is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Lyon celebrates the victory with the fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Elias Lyon!
Elias Lyon decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
