Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shinsuke Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Lamb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nakamura comes to the cage accompanied by Rising Sun. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeremy Lamb!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura throws a head kick but Lamb moves out of range.
Some wild striking there from Lamb.
Jeremy Lamb seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lamb moves out of range as Nakamura throws a body kick.
Lamb is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Nakamura.


It looks like Jeremy Lamb has been cut.
Nakamura takes one to the chin there.
Lamb thows a leg kick but Nakamura checks it

and Nakamura counters with a single leg into guard. Lamb didn't expect that.

Nakamura stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Lamb closes the distance and pushes Nakamura back into the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Nakamura not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lamb really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nakamura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nakamura has an active guard here but Lamb has managed to pass into half guard.

Nakamura flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nakamura makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nakamura.
Nakamura looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lamb is one step ahead there.
Lamb looking to sit in guard and control but Nakamura gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nakamura's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Nakamura advances to half guard.
Nakamura is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Lamb is refusing to be controlled, as Nakamura sits in half guard.

Lamb kicks Nakamura off and gets back to his feet.
Nakamura shoots for a takedown but Lamb saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lamb misses with a jab, cross combination.

Nakamura is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lamb sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lamb.
Nice takedown defense from Lamb. No joy for Nakamura on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shinsuke Nakamura. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nakamura shoots in looking for a takedown but Lamb manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nakamura's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lamb closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Nakamura throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Horrible takedown attempt by Nakamura or perhaps it was just good defense by Lamb, which made it look bad.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lamb misses with a takedown attempt - Nakamura sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lamb is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Nakamura walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Nakamura tries a head kick but it misses.
Lamb misses with a series of wild punches.
Lamb stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lamb wants it to stay on the feet.
Lamb tries to counter by closing the distance.

Lamb clinches with his opponent.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Lamb pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Nakamura throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lamb tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Nakamura is in Lamb's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nakamura trying to control but Lamb is working from the bottom.
Lamb wants to stand and escape but Nakamura is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Shinsuke Nakamura will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Nakamura looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Lamb!
Lamb is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Nakamura asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Nakamura is looking to take a break and control but Lamb is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nakamura has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Lamb!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nakamura swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Lamb is now in Nakamura's guard. A big mistake from Nakamura there, giving up the dominant position!
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Nakamura holds on and takes a little breather.
Nakamura is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lamb stands up and waves to Nakamura to follow him.

Nakamura uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lamb.
Jeremy Lamb seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Nakamura closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lamb's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nakamura is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Nakamura might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lamb pushes Nakamura off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Lamb throws a sloppy head kick and Nakamura moves out of range easily.
Lamb shoots for a double leg takedown but Nakamura sprawls well. He's pushed Lamb's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nakamura throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lamb's waist but Lamb gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nakamura off to one side.

Lamb lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lamb.

Lamb misses with a takedown attempt - Nakamura sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lamb looks to land a combination but Nakamura avoids it well.

and Nakamura takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Lamb throws a sloppy head kick and Nakamura moves out of range easily.

Nakamura feints and as Lamb raises his hands in defense, Nakamura changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jeremy Lamb showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Nakamura fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lamb sprawls well initially but Nakamura persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Shinsuke Nakamura overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lamb pushes Nakamura off looking to stand but Nakamura dives back in and keeps control.
Nakamura thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lamb's head.
Nakamura not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Nakamura seems to be working for a kimura but Lamb defends the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nakamura is taking a breather. Lamb says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Shinsuke Nakamura is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lamb lands with a cross.

Lamb gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lamb breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nakamura fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

A punch lands to the side of Nakamura 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Lamb shoots in but Nakamura avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nakamura throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nakamura shoots for a takedown but Lamb saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nakamura fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Lamb moves into range and clinches up with Nakamura.

Lamb breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lamb has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lamb works over Nakamura's head and body with a nice combination.
Nakamura tries to clinch up but Lamb circles away and keeps his distance.
Lamb swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Nakamura tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lamb paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nakamura tries a head kick but it misses.

Nakamura drives through with a takedown into Lamb's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Nakamura gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sloppy strikes from Lamb. Those never looked like landing.
Lamb misses with an uppercut. Nakamura saw that one coming.
Nakamura shoots for a takedown but Lamb saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lamb looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Lamb leaves Nakamura with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jeremy Lamb comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lamb has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
