Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lachlan Cassidy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Khal Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stark has chosen Gardenia by Kyuss as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stark throws a right hand that misses
and Cassidy counters with a nice uppercut.
Stark thows a leg kick but Cassidy checks it
and Cassidy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cassidy slips a jab and a cross from Stark.
Stark misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cassidy.
A little feinted left hand from Cassidy on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Stark looks for the body kick but Cassidy saw that one coming.
Stark misses with a left hand
and Cassidy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Stark jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Stark looks to land a combination but Cassidy avoids it well.
Cassidy drops his hands momentarily and Stark takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Stark walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Cassidy is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Cassidy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Stark fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cassidy, pushing him back against the cage.

Stark blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Cassidy lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Stark is trying to drag Cassidy to the mat but Cassidy just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Cassidy has Stark pressed against the cage, preventing Stark from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

I was talking to Cassidy's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Stark throws an elbow that misses.

Cassidy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Stark throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Cassidy counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Stark throws a head kick that misses.
Stark swinging wildly here.

Cassidy stuns Stark with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Stark tries to clinch there but Cassidy circles away.

Stark wants to clinch but Cassidy slips to the side

This has been an exciting period of action!
Stark throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Cassidy lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Stark.
A nice right hand lands inside from Stark.
Stark misses with a punch on the inside.
Stark taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Cassidy misses with the head strike.

Cassidy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stark tries to clinch but Cassidy is having none of it.
It looked like Cassidy was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Stark.
Stark misses with a right hand
and Cassidy counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Stark staying out of range there.
Cassidy sets himself, and Stark steps forward looking for the clinch! Cassidy avoids it this time.
A head kick misses from Stark.
Stark jabs Cassidy right on the nose. Cassidy blinks but takes it well.

Stark pushes Cassidy up against the cage in a clinch.

Stark jumps guard and drags Cassidy to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Lachlan Cassidy will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Khal Stark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cassidy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stark sizes up Cassidy with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Stark fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Stark closes the distance but Cassidy moves to the side
and Cassidy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Stark falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cassidy counters with a crisp right that sends Stark to the canvas! Cassidy follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lachlan Cassidy!
A very excited looking Lachlan Cassidy made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Khal Stark was interviewed post fight and said 'Thanks to everyone!'.
