Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carol Pratt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DS Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Carol Pratt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, DS Marshall!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pratt tries to sprawl but Marshall drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Pratt is refusing to be controlled, as Marshall sits in half guard.

Marshall looking for a submission but Pratt manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Marshall must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Marshall has gone for a leg lock! Pratt slips out almost immediately though and dives into Marshall's guard.


Pratt is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marshall trying to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pratt looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Pratt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Marshall has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pratt has managed to get both his arms back between Marshall's legs - danger averted.
Pratt slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pratt is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Marshall shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Pratt makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Pratt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Marshall sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pratt somewhat.

Marshall clinches up with Pratt and pushes him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pratt keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Marshall's efforts to push away.

Marshall is trying to trip Pratt. He has hold of a leg but Pratt is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Marshall persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Marshall is pushing down on Pratt's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pratt is fighting to maintain full guard but Marshall has managed to sneak the leg through.
Marshall is keen to just control but Pratt is a slippery customer.
Marshall tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Marshall is trying to control the action in half guard but Pratt is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pratt is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Carol Pratt will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Marshall looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Pratt!
Pratt sneaks back into half guard.
Pratt gets back to full guard.
Pratt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Marshall's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marshall is looking to stand up but Pratt isn't so interested in that idea.
Marshall wants to sweep here but Pratt controlling him for the moment.

Pratt sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Marshall is looking for a triangle but Pratt pushes his legs off easily.
Marshall looking to control.
Pratt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Pratt postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Marshall trying to keep a closed guard but Pratt is proving a slippery customer.
Pratt is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Marshall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Marshall is trying to hold Pratt in close to prevent damage but Pratt has managed to pass into half guard.
Marshall is breathing heavily.
Pratt winds up and cracks Marshall with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Marshall tries to get to full guard but Pratt has control of the leg.
Marshall is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Still in half guard, Pratt seems content to control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pratt connects with a nice short shot to Marshall's temple.

Pratt is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Marshall wants to control but Pratt is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pratt looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pratt.

Pratt gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Marshall has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Pratt clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Pratt tries to escape but Marshall has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Pratt trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pratt prevents Marshall from getting a body triangle.
Marshall keeps control of the position as Pratt tries to break free.
Marshall is not going to allow Pratt to sit and survive in this position.
Will Marshall go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
I really don't envy Pratt right now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marshall darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Pratt makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pratt.
Marshall stopping the sweep attempt from Pratt.
Pratt lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Carol Pratt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Pratt works over Marshall with some ground and pound from guard.

Pratt looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pratt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pratt chips away with some ground and pound.
Marshall is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Marshall has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Pratt has passed into side control.
Marshall tries to improve position but can't.
Pratt controls the position from side control.
Pratt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marshall can do to turn this around?

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pratt has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Marshall takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Pratt has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Marshall decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Pratt keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Marshall drops an elbow to the side of Pratt's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pratt works his way to full guard. Good work.
Pratt looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Pratt pushes Marshall off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
DS Marshall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch combination from Marshall misses.
Marshall takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Marshall shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Pratt manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Marshall keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Carol Pratt showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pratt, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
