The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson misses with a kick to the body

and Kidd counters with a nice double leg into side control. Anderson won't be happy with that.
Anderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kidd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Anderson is trying to buck Kidd off.
Kidd cracks Anderson with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Kidd is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Anderson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kidd has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Anderson pushes Kidd away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kidd gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Anderson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kidd wants to lay and pray for a moment but Anderson keeps working.

Clinched against the cage, Anderson lands a big elbow that drops Kidd! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Kidd is complaining that he's OK but he was done.
