Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Numbers Sexton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pradeep Kumar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Numbers Sexton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pradeep Kumar!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sexton moves out of range as Kumar throws a body kick.

Sexton looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Kumar is wriggling around but Sexton manages to pass to half guard.

Sexton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sexton prevents Kumar from improving his position.
Kumar is still trying to improve position.
Kumar is trying to maintain the position but Sexton is very close to passing his half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sexton stands up and beckons Kumar to join him on the feet.

Kumar has managed to clinch.
Sexton is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kumar is defending well for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kumar closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sexton to the mat! Sexton manages to get full guard.
Kumar wants to control from the top but Sexton keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sexton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kumar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kumar is fighting to break Sexton's control of his arms but Sexton is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Kumar looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Sexton passes into half guard.
Sexton is nestled in close to Kumar, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Sexton is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sexton lands a nice short elbow.

Kumar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sexton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pradeep Kumar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sexton takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Numbers Sexton dominated that round.
That's time! Sexton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Kumar moves into the clinch successfully.
Kumar lands a nice knee to the body.
Kumar on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Kumar has hold of one of Sexton's legs. Sexton is fighting the takedown attempt but Kumar gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Kumar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sexton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kumar has managed to get both his arms back between Sexton's legs - danger averted.
Kumar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Sexton is pulling down on Kumar's head to control his posture.

Sexton is working an open guard so Kumar takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kumar drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Who's going to make the next move?

Kumar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sexton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Sexton wants to improve his position but Kumar is controlling well.
Kumar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sexton keeps working.
Kumar is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Sexton reverses the position - he's now on top in Kumar's guard.
Sexton is looking to work some ground and pound but Kumar has wrist control.

Sexton is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kumar has momentary wrist control but Sexton slips an elbow through the middle.

Numbers Sexton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kumar wants to improve his position but Sexton is controlling well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sexton connects with a nice short shot to Kumar's temple.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Numbers Sexton dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Kumar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kumar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kumar stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Sexton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kumar can do to turn this around?
Kumar lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Numbers Sexton has been cut.
Kumar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kumar wants it to stay on the feet.

As Sexton backs off Kumar throws a huge counter combo but Sexton manages to avoid it all.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kumar clinches up with Sexton and pushes him back against the cage.

Kumar is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sexton can't fight it off and eventually Kumar manages to take the fight to the floor. Sexton looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kumar has gone for a leg lock! Sexton slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kumar's guard.

Kumar is looking for a triangle here but Sexton uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Sexton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sexton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
