Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Fadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reed Hightower (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fadden comes to the cage accompanied by Hate Song by THE HAUNTED. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reed Hightower!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hightower lunges at Fadden with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Fadden's hand.
Fadden catches Hightower with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Hightower throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fadden fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hightower drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Fadden defends it well.
Hightower cracks Fadden with a good jab.
Fadden ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hightower moves away.
Hightower throws a leg kick which misses Fadden's front leg but catches the back leg as Fadden tries to avoid it.
Fadden swings for the body but Hightower moves out of range.
Hightower tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fadden was well out of range. Poor timing from Hightower.
Fadden is looking to counter punch.
Hightower slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hightower throws a body punch but Fadden moves out of range.
Fadden misses with a series of wild punches.
Hightower connects with the punch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fadden throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hightower on the side of the head.
Hightower connects with a crisp jab.
A jab lands there for Fadden.
Hightower throws a push kick but Fadden slaps the foot to one side.
Fadden looks to score with a jab to the body but Hightower is just out of range.
Hightower has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hightower throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Hightower lands a body shot.

Hightower keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hightower darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Hightower lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
A left lands for Hightower.
Hightower stuns Fadden with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Fadden misses with a double jab
and Hightower counters with a right hand to the body.
Fadden lands a head shot.
Fadden misses with a left hand
and Hightower counters with a low kick, right behind Fadden 's knee.
Hightower scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Hightower shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fadden is looking to escape.
Hightower sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Hightower throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Hightower wants to pass to mount but Fadden is defending the position.
Hightower is stalling here. Fadden is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hightower seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Fadden has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Hightower tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fadden wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Fadden looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Hightower is still trying to improve position.
Fadden tries to move into full mount but can't pass Hightower's legs.
Fadden knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hightower on the ground.

Hightower tries to buck Fadden off but Fadden is having none of it.
Hightower is not content to let Fadden control the position.
Fadden working the ground and pound but Hightower is defending the strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fadden thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hightower is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Fadden tries to pass to full mount but Hightower defends it.
Hightower gets back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hightower wants to sweep here but Fadden controlling him for the moment.

Fadden wants to control from the top but Hightower keeps moving.

Hightower is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Fadden has his hands clasped together but Hightower extends and breaks Fadden's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Hightower.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Reed Hightower!
Reed Hightower decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
