Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Woima Karhu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mack Mythos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karhu comes to the cage accompanied by House of Pain - Jump Around. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Mack Mythos!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Bruno Lombardi and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Mythos lands an impressive looking overhand right. Karhu doesn't seem phased though.


It looks like Woima Karhu has been cut.

Mythos drives through and clinches with Karhu against the cage.
Mythos blocks an uppercut.
Mythos lands with a short shot to the head.
Karhu takes a shot to the head.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Mythos as Karhu tries to tie him up.
Karhu has Mythos pressed against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Mythos.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Mythos.
Mythos misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Karhu trying to stall but Mythos improves his position.
Maybe Karhu would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.
Mythos manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mythos breaks from the clinch.
Karhu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mythos's waist but Mythos gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Karhu off to one side.
Mythos is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Karhu throws a lazy right hand but Mythos sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Karhu is defended easily by Mythos.

Mythos throws out a loose jab but Karhu uses good head movement to avoid it.

Mythos throws a right hand that Karhu ducks under and follows up with a left that Karhu also avoids with ease.
Karhu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mythos pinned against the cage. Mythos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Karhu shoots for a double leg takedown but Mythos sprawls well. He's pushed Karhu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mythos has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Karhu is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Mythos takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Mythos thuds a left hand into Karhu's body.
Karhu misses with an uppercut. Mythos saw that one coming.

Mythos moves into the clinch.
Karhu with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
A short right from Mythos.
A right hook to the body lands for Mythos.

Mythos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mythos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Karhu.
Mythos misses with a looping right.
Mythos throws a good cross that connects.

Mack Mythos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Karhu shoots in but Mythos avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Karhu connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mythos momentarily.

Karhu is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mythos has managed to free his arm - good work.

Karhu looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Karhu is trying to control. Mythos wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mythos is trying to get back to full guard.
Karhu is keen to just control but Mythos is a slippery customer.
Mythos wants to improve his position but Karhu is controlling well.
Karhu looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Karhu is looking to take a break and control but Mythos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Karhu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Mythos swings for the body but Karhu moves out of range.
Karhu drops down looking for a counter takedown but Mythos sprawls and moves away.
Karhu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mythos moves away.
Mythos looks to land a right hand but Karhu moved out of range.
Woima Karhu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karhu cracks Mythos with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Mythos tries to clinch but Karhu is having none of it.
Mythos tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Karhu was well out of range. Poor timing from Mythos.
Karhu looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Mythos just misses with a punch to the body.
Mythos throws a body punch but Karhu moves out of range.
Karhu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Karhu shoots in and drives through. Mythos sprawls well.
Mythos throws an overhand right that lands on Karhu's shoulder, as Karhu tries to avoid the shot.
Karhu throws a hook but Mythos blocks it.

Mythos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mythos lands a jab to the nose.
Karhu throws a leg kick but Mythos checks it.

Karhu closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mythos did well to prevent Karhu getting side control.

Mythos is trying to maintain the position but Karhu is very close to passing his half guard.

Karhu seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Mythos has recovered full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Karhu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mythos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Karhu is taking a breather. Mythos says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Mythos closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mythos has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mythos throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Mythos lands a nice uppercut.
A right hook to the body lands for Mythos.
Karhu has a couple of punches blocked by Mythos.

Mythos breaks the clinch.
Mythos tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Karhu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Karhu changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Mack Mythos seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Mythos connects with the punch.
Mythos lands with an uppercut that bounces Karhu off the cage and back into range.

Karhu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mythos avoids it really well and circles away.
Mythos lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.


Woima Karhu's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Mythos misses with an uppercut. Karhu saw that one coming.
Karhu with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Mythos to score with a decent uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Karhu drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Oh Karhu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Karhu tries for a takedown but Mythos sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Karhu seems to have got his legs back now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Woima Karhu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Karhu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mythos.

Karhu shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Karhu was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Karhu is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Mythos's shoulder. That is not cool.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mack Mythos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Mythos fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Karhu manages to avoid it.

Mythos controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Karhu holds on and takes a little breather.
Mythos wants to pass the guard but Karhu is keeping the position.

Mythos is taking a breather. Karhu says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Mythos is continuing to stall.
Mythos throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mythos in particular looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Karhu misses with a takedown attempt - Mythos sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Karhu connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Karhu tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mythos swivels and escapes.
The fighters circling - Karhu throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Karhu misses with a takedown
and Mythos makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Mack Mythos is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Karhu throws a leg kick but Mythos sees it coming and moves out of range.
Mythos lands a really nice looking cross but Karhu seems unphased.

Mack Mythos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Mythos winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
